Coaching

Training alone is often not the end of the process. Many years of experience in has taught us that after training a satisfactory means of follow-up is needed to ensure behavior is improved in the longer-term. This can very often be achieved through the use of coaching. Important goals can be attained through increased professionalism and effectiveness and the increasing of motivation and satisfaction within the individual. Through personal coaching the coach acts as a sounding board and sparring-partner for the client. There is an opportunity for the individual to reflect on personal and professional goals and for the coach to get a better insight into the individual person within the context of the organization. Through career coaching the coach and client are able to evaluate his or career and get answers to questions such as 'Who am I?', 'What will I do?' and 'What can I do?' The coach helps the employee to develop a clearer picture of himself, to weigh up options and make important decisions.

Coaching is also about working together. Contracting is about setting context, answering questions, and gaining a clearer picture of wider expectations. In partnership with the coach, the client is able to mold the development points raised into a meaningful and relevant plan of action. Thereafter he or she works on the further exploration of certain patterns of behavior with the help of the coach. The client gets the opportunity to practice and experiment with other behaviors, often in role plays which can be highly beneficial.
